The primary responsibilities for this position are new business development and management of client relationships related to that business. New business development responsibilities include developing relationships with key decision-makers at biotechnological, pharmaceutical, and medical device companies to initiate and secure new business opportunities for the company. Participate with the business development team in the development, maintenance, and coordinated execution of specific goals related to delivery of new business on a quarterly and annual basis. Routinely communicate with all clients that are initiated by or assigned to this position. Additional responsibilities include working with Business Development, Accounting, Quality Assurance, and Operations to ensure efficient development of proposals with associated pricing, master service agreements, and work orders that are initiated by this position. Coordinate the status of this work internally and with the external clients/partners as appropriate. Ensure head of Business Development is immediately notified of any and all client/partner issues that are thought to be significant (e.g., service complaints, invoicing problems, etc.) along with recommendations for resolution.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with head of Business Development in the development and implementation of performance goals related to this position • Provide input regarding marketing efforts consistent with plan (i.e., conferences, website development, promotional material, presentations, etc.)
  • Provide management oversight to all direct reports within the Business Development team
  • Plans and coordinates with Business Development team as appropriate, to ensure achievement of quarterly and annual goals for the position
  • Develops strategies for all appropriate clients in conjunction with the business development teams of industry partner companies
  • Anticipates and identifies client challenges that may evolve from time to time and provides solutions in accord with company policies and procedures Maintains records for assigned customers, such as account profiles, contracts and proposals, sales and budget and communications within company CRM system
  • Maintains current professional level of knowledge company services and related technology in order to communicate effectively with clients and internal staff members
  • Participates in weekly updates to the business development team of new activities including urgent and important issues
  • Actively participates at professional meetings and conventions as appropriate
  • Work with candidate and current clients/partners to understand the scope of work requirements for all new candidate projects
  • Proactively identify and lead resolution of problems/issues that may jeopardize securing new business
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives spearheaded by executive management and/or department heads
  • Comply with Statistics & Data Corporation’s data integrity & business ethics requirements
  • Able to travel

Requirements

  • Solid independent, critical thinking ability and demonstrated ability to discern multiple viewpoints
  • Familiarity with ICH Guidelines for Good Clinical Practice and Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills to include excellent ability to identify and resolve problems
  • Keen ability to accurately discern priorities in a resource constrained work environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent computer skills to include strong knowledge and MS Office suite of software
  • Perforably resides in the East Coast

Education or Equivalent Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering, applied or life sciences or business is required.
  • Ten years of experience in Business Development or related positions within the clinical trial industry
  • An MBA or other related advanced degree is preferred
